HEArt Show Raises Funds for Milagro Center of Delray Beach

The 2017 HEArt Show took place on Saturday, February 25th, 2017, benefitting the Milagro Center of Delray Beach. HEArt’s mission is to promote awareness and raise funds for local programs that utilize the expressive arts.

Healing Through Expressive Arts, Inc. celebrated their new 501(c)3 status at the Fieldhouse at Old School Square. HEArt Show’s founder and creative director, Clara Bossie, LMFT, welcomed guests to an urban landscape which captured this year’s theme of #NoArtistLeftBehind. Pop up installations displayed pieces from professional and amateur artists. Featured artists included Salvatore Principe, Charles Edward Soto, Alejandra Rodriguez, Amanda Johnson, Gabriella Bianchini, and Ona Steele. Live artists included Sidney Stephenson, G.Stakis, Dove Demain, and Jose Mendez.

Against a backdrop of live entertainment, attendees sampled culinary delights provided by Chef Neil Herekar of Space of Mind, Wildflour Bakery, La Bonne Bouche Bistro, and Accomplice Brewery. Bond Street Salon pampered guests with hair and makeup services. The presenting sponsor of the evening was Nation Safe Drivers, with additional underwriting provided by Lewis & Thomas, LLP, the Farkas family, the Rabil family, Mrs. Patricia Thomas, Arrigo Dodge Chrysler Jeep Ram, Floridian Community Bank, and Mr. & Mrs. David Davidson.

The Milagro Center selected as Beneficiary for 2017 Heart Show

The Milagro Center selected as Beneficiary for 2017 Heart Show
Healing Through Expressive Arts, Inc. is pleased to announce that it has chosen the The Milagro Center of Delray Beach as the beneficiary for next year’s HEArt Show, which will take place on February 25, 2017.   The annual event showcases the work of both amateur and professional artists, while raising funds and awareness for community organizations that utilize art in their programs. Previous recipients include The Body Positive and Louis and Anne Green Memory and Wellness Center at Florida Atlantic University.  Clara Bossie, LMFT, HEArt Show Founder and Creative Director explained, “The Milagro Center truly showcases the power of expressive arts to heal both individuals and communities.  We are very excited to partner with them for 2017.”  Proceeds from ticket and art sales will be donated to the Milagro Center in order to assist with the organization’s mission. Per the Milagro Center’s website, the organization’s mission is to enrich the lives of children through cultural arts, living values and academic support.  “We are just thrilled to have been selected as the 2017 beneficiary organization for the HEArt Show”, states Glenn Mueller, Director of Grants Administration for the Milagro Center.
 
About The Milagro Center: The Milagro Center is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization whose mission is to enrich the lives of children through cultural arts, living values and academic support. Designed to be a replicable model for self-sustaining, non-profit organizations that provide educational and art programs to disadvantaged children, the center’s four goals are to ensure academic success, promote hearts, teach inclusion and embrace diversity, and create strong individuals who positively impact their communities. Funding sources include government support, corporate contributions, fundraising activities, earned income, and in-kind gifts. Additionally, parents pay $2 per day for their child to attend. 2016 HEArt Show Raises Funds for Memory & Wellness Center at FAU

 The annual HEArt Show: “A Hollywood Story”, sponsored by Art for Alzheimer’s, took place on Friday, February 5th, 2016, benefitting the Louis & Anne Green Memory and Wellness Center of the Christine E. Lynn College of Nursing at Florida Atlantic University. The HEArt Show’s mission is to promote awareness of the healing power of expressive arts and to raise funds for organizations that utilize art in the healing process.

The red carpet was unrolled for the evening’s guests, who entered the transformed space of the Memory and Wellness Center. Pop up installations displayed pieces from professional and amateur artists. Featured artists included Salvatore Principe, Brendan Murphy, Charles Edward Soto, Amanda Johnson, Ona Steele, Pat Kaufman, and Bobby Grossman. Attendees sampled culinary delights provided by Silver Sac Catering and Saltwater Brewery against a backdrop of live music. Live artists included Tatiana Farkas, Matthew Guhl, Joshua Isla, and Lori Practico from Girl Noticed, who created a one-of-a-kind piece for the dedicated volunteers of the HEArt Show.

Special guests of the evening included Louis & Anne Green, Jan Savarick, Dr. María Ordóñez, Dr. Benjamin Bensadon, Dr. Marlaine C. Smith, Dr. Lynne Dunphy, Dr. Priti Kothari, and Patricia Thomas. Nearly 225 guests came out to support the HEArt Show and $14,500 was raised for the Louis & Anne Green Memory and Wellness Center.   For more information, please visit heartshow.org.
